   The first generation of Tom and Jerry as people doesn’t freak me out — whacking a sour note on the head and flushing down the toilet does, though.

   Jenn, it’s a completely different series unrelated to the cat and mouse Tom and Jerry and it was produced by different creators in a different studio. Read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_and_Jerry_(Van_Beuren)
